We are proud to announce that our integrated SOLROOF photovoltaic panels have obtained Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) No. EPD-2025-0075. This is not only a confirmation of our policy of conscious and sustainable production but also official proof that SOLROOF is among the most ecological solutions on the photovoltaic market, and its carbon footprint during the production phase is one of the lowest in the industry. Being up to three times more environmentally friendly than some modules produced outside Europe. <\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The declaration was issued on July 16, 2025, by the certification body CERTBUD Sp. z o.o., in accordance with standard EN 15804+A2:2019, which specifies the principles for the environmental assessment of construction products. The GWP (Global Warming Potential) in phase A1-A3 (from raw material extraction to factory gate) for SOLROOF is only: 0.18 kg CO<\/strong>2<\/sub><\/strong>eq \/ Wp.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This means that SOLROOF photovoltaic panels are almost 3 times more environmentally friendly than some popular non-European PV modules. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

European Production, World-Class Quality<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

SOLROOF photovoltaic modules are manufactured in a modern production plant in Ko\u0161ice (Slovakia), covering an area of 21,000 m\u00b2. This facility not only houses a photovoltaic production line but also a Steel Service Center, a steel gutter system line, and sandwich panel production. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plant was designed to meet stringent requirements, which allowed us to obtain ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 compliance certificates. ISO 14001 specifies requirements for organizations that wish to implement, maintain, and improve a management system to minimize negative environmental impact and achieve regulatory compliance. Furthermore, we also hold other certifications, such as: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

XCarb\u00ae steel certificate from recycled and renewable production from ArcelorMittal, Declaration of conformity with Directive 2014\/35\/EU, Classification report for FIT VOLT roofing product in case of external fire exposure, Report on safety tests conducted for BIPV and PV installations from CBOiNT, Production quality management certificate with ISO 9001 standard.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our production line and SOLROOF system also boast a VDE certificate. The tests were conducted by the renowned Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE \u2013 part of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the largest independent European research institution. The organization specializes in advanced testing of modern technologies, with a particular focus on the photovoltaic sector. Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft comprises as many as 66 German research institutes, establishing itself as an authority in the field of energy innovation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advanced Technology and Conscious Material Selection <\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

SOLROOF panels are a modern combination of glass-steel technology with the proprietary VOLT LINK solution, integrating monocrystalline cells with a steel layer. This provides mechanical durability, resistance to extreme weather conditions, and high aesthetics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Low-emission XCarb\u00ae Steel from ArcelorMittal<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At SOLROOF, we believe that the future of construction lies in solutions that are not only efficient but also ecological. That is why our panels are made from low-emission XCarb\u00ae steel from ArcelorMittal \u2013 a material that is at least 75% recycled and produced using 100% renewable energy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Production takes place in electric arc furnaces (EAF), which significantly reduces CO\u2082 emissions (the average footprint is approximately 300 kg CO\u2082 per ton of steel), compared to conventional smelting methods. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to the use of XCarb\u00ae, the SOLROOF roof not only generates clean energy but also inherently supports a circular economy, offering a genuinely lower carbon footprint already at the material selection stage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, ArcelorMittal certifies every 100 kg of product with documents confirming recycling participation and the use of ecological energy, enabling transparent emissions reporting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

High Durability of XTREME [XT] Coating – up to 60 Years Warranty <\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To ensure the highest durability and aesthetics of the SOLROOF system, we have used the latest generation of protective coating \u2013 XTREME [XT] from ArcelorMittal. This advanced solution not only provides the highest level of corrosion resistance (RC5+) and UV radiation resistance (RUV5) but is also based on low-emission XCarb\u00ae steel. Such a combination of technologies guarantees not only ecological production but also exceptional durability \u2013 even in the most demanding conditions, such as coastal areas or highly polluted industrial zones. Additionally, the classic deep black shade of XT33 perfectly complements the diverse architecture and style of the SOLROOF system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The durability of the solution is confirmed by specific data: 60 years warranty under standard conditions and 40 years warranty in coastal environments, making SOLROOF a solution for decades. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advanced End-Of-Life Scenarios for SOLROOF Panels <\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At SOLROOF, we have focused not only on the production method but also on the need for future panel disposal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Europe, including Poland, the process of panel disposal is regulated by the WEEE directive, which sets specific requirements for recovery and recycling. According to this directive, photovoltaic panel manufacturers are obliged to finance the collection and recycling of used panels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In our approach to SOLROOF, we place great emphasis on sustainable practices, which is why we take action to minimize negative environmental impact. Therefore, we use recycled, low-emission XCarb\u00ae steel from one of the largest steel suppliers, ArcelorMittal. We focus on innovative technologies and processes that enable the recovery of valuable materials from used panels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are committed to long-term solutions so that our technology supports both economic development and sustainable development goals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our specialists have developed realistic disposal scenarios, thanks to which 98% of steel scrap and 100% of electrical waste are recycled. 100% of plastics are incinerated with energy recovery. The remaining waste goes to landfills as mixed construction and demolition waste. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
